Registration & Check-In


|
Is our team allowed to have guest players? YES, you are able to use unlimited guest players. All players must have laminated player passes from their respective State Associations, AYSO or US Club. Back to Top

How many games will we play? All teams will be guaranteed at least 3 games. A 4th game on Sunday would be a championship match in all divisions. Back to Top

How do we check in before our first game? You must be at your first game, Saturday July 5th, no later than 1.5 hours and check-in at the site headquarters. Look for the Quiksilver tent where the field marshals will check you in. Back to Top

Can our team play up into a different age bracket? The tournament director and scheduling committee will consider special requests to play up into a higher age bracket. Please make such a request by noting it in the competition notes as a part of the registration process. In addition please contact and notify the tournament director Bobby Bruch at (714) 658-2221 or via email at bayerncup@scbayern.com to make your request. You will receive a notice from the tournament director on whether your request can be accommodated. Back to Top

What is the refund policy if the tournament is canceled for inclement weather? If the tournament is canceled due to inclement weather prior to the start of competition, teams will be issued partial refunds in the amount of $300 to allow for reasonable deductions for incurred tournament costs. Note that in addition to the $300 refund, all registered teams will receive a $150 discount on their registration fees for the 2009 South Coast Bayern Cup next year. Back to Top

Will there be multiple skill levels per age group? We anticipate one flight for every 8-12 teams entered in an age group. To the degree that the number of registered teams allows, teams will receive flight assignments based on skill levels. Please provide adequate information in your competition notes to assist the scheduling committee in determining your team's skill level. Back to Top

What documentation or paperwork will we need to show at check-in? All players must present a player pass, from AYSO, US CLUB, or their respective State Association. Each player must also have an emergency medical release form. A sticker will be placed upon each card for acceptance to play. The player check-in is done on the morning of your first game, arrive no later than 1.5 hours to check-in your team at your venue. Look for the Quiksilver Tents. Back to Top

Can we pay by credit card? Yes. In addition to paying by check, you can pay the registration fee online with a credit card. Note that a convenience fee of $15 will be assessed to cover credit card processing fees. Back to Top

What will be the length of the pool and semifinal matches? U8 - U10 will be 50 minutes. U11 - U13 will be 50 minutes. U14 - U19 will be 60 minutes. Back to Top

How do we get LA Galaxy game tickets? MLS ticket information for the Los Angeles Galaxy game and fireworks display on Friday July 4th is available on the South Coast Bayern Cup website and can be purchased from the Bayern Store. Can we make our own travel arrangements? For teams outside of the 5-county Southern California region (Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego), Get Travel, the official travel partner of the South Coast Bayern Cup must be contacted to book hotel reservations. A minimum of 6 room-nights is required. By using our travel partner you are guaranteed a level of professionalism second to none, the friendly staff will guide you through the process. Can anyone take part in the opening day Athlete's Celebration of Excellence (ACE) parade at Disneyland or California Adventure? Any tournament participant may march in the opening day ACE parade as long as they have purchased a ticket to enter the California Adventure park in Anaheim CA. Reduced price Theme Park tickets may only be purchased from our travel partner, GET Travel. The staging area will be "Back Stage," at the California Adventure Park, the parade will take 1.5-2 hours including preparation. A PDF map of California Adventure will be available to guide you on where to be for the July 3rd event. Plan to be at California Adventure no later than 3pm on July 3rd. If you purchase a park hopper ticket, you will be able to enter both Disneyland and California Adventure. Back to Top

Will the tournament scheduling committee consider requests to reduce conflicts for coaches with more than one team entered? Requests can be made to the tournament director and scheduling committee if a coach has multiple teams in the tournament. Those requests should be made by email directly to the tournament director at bayerncup@scbayern.com Please include the names and divisions of the multiple teams in your email request. Efforts will be made to accommodate scheduling requests, but can not be guaranteed. Back to Top

What are Goalie Wars? Goalie Wars are 1 vs. 1 competitive elimination games to showcase goalie skills and talent. The Goalie Wars will be held at the University of California Irvine venue only. Registration is done onsite the morning of July 5th. Please have your keeper sign up; $15 includes a free tournament T-Shirt. Champions for each age group will receive a Goalie War championship award. Back to Top

Are there any facilities for team practices on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday before matches begin? There are sites available. You must contact the tournament director by email at bayerncup@scbayern.com for more information. You may also request a scrimmage with one of the South Coast Bayern teams if that suits your needs.
